Head scratcher
Range Rover Blues:
If it's presurisig that bad then it's a head gasket or cracked head surely. Did you buy a branded gasket? I learned the hard way there are a lot of s*** ones about.
Mud-muncher1:
All the gaskets come from paddocks
Frankie-Boy:
It might well be the cylinder head, a friend of mine had the same trouble with his 300 after he had a head gasket blow, it had the head skimmed and gasket replaced but he still had problems with overheating, it was eventually diagnosed as the head going soft and not seating properly, after fitting a new head everything is fine now.
GreedyGibson:
its worth getting the head crack and pressure tested and skimmed when they are off cost's about £60 around here but saves having to do it twice.
Mud-muncher1:
Hi all, thanks for all your help and info and i have now found the problem, it seems that the head gasket has gone again due to the head being warped, so hopefully back on the road very soon,
Thanks Jav.
