Head scratcher
Range Rover Blues:
I think I bought mine form Paddocks too  after I had trouble a couple of folks on here said make sure you buy the geniune OEM supplier ones.
Also, the 300TDi head shouldn't be skimmed, apparently, fortunately they are only £300, not like the 200 TDi.
That said, I skimmed ours. Just need to find out whether it's the exhaust manifold on head gasket that's making the ticking sound :? 'm hoping it's just the exhaust as someone ran into the back of it, otherwise I'm in the same boat as you.
Mud-muncher1:
Mine seemed to be fine when it was skimmed first time round, but thats the first time i've heard that you shouldn't skim 300 heads. Last time it failed between 3rd an 4th cylinder, but this time it went near the 2nd from the manifold gasket side so it could be down to where the head had warped
Jav.
stuntman:
I've skimmed 3 300 cylinder heads, all in the space of 4 weeks, for different people, no probs just lots of agro.
Mind you I did get really quick at doing the job :)
