I dunno, but how many olympic sports have been made illegal in this country? some of the ones that didn't make the telly for sure.

Im all for it.
I say this because I do travel a little for work around europe mainly and when you do seeing other countries it makes you realise what this country is really like and how downhill its going compared to others.
The olympics puts GB onto the world stage and if this serves to put good old GB back to where it should be ,then great.
RRB, understand what you are saying about not wanting to pay for it, but if you breakdown where your tax goes I reckon you will find that you are paying for many many things far more less deserving than the games.

2012 games should be fun instead of the olympic flame we will have a burning nicked car. Also heard they have to sort out some sort of law for the shooting events as the guns used are ileagel in this country.

They are spending 8 million on a perpose built shooting range then demolishing it after the games :roll:
And hasn't banning guns done a lot ,,, still now at least it's only criminals that have them so it's not as dangerous
Though the british team will be shooting from a moving car ;)
