More likely 100 men pushing a transit because there's no longer any wheels on it
Boris has already said the 2012 olympics will be no-where near as lavish as the Beijing spectacle, but then we don't have as much to prove as the Chinese think they do.
Just as well, it's going to cost £9.35 Billion, more than £6 billion of which will come directly from our pockets
How much is a Billion anyway, all I know is there are less than 30 million taxpayers to foot that bill (after we've bought Northern Rock) and 6 billion is roughly the gov'ts shortfall in funding this year, or the amount of extra debt Gordon Brown will be dragging us into.
It's also roughly the amount of stamp duty they had budgeted to take off us, hence the extra public debt.
And what will the olympics do for me?
<nothing>, that's what

What? Won't it give you a feeling of well being and pride in being British? :P

No.... if people don't live in or near London then they get the raving hump about it :x
Good grief there are a lot of moaning miserable toads around.... I wonder how things would have been if cities such as Birmingham or Manchester had bid for the games and won. Only one city can win and London put forward the best bid. Be happy that the UK has the games and cheer on the British athletes in 2012.
OK I live to the east of London and can get to the games easily in 2012 and will try hard to see as many events as possible, but I would have tried the same if it had been up north somewhere :)

Excuse me? Did I suggest I was getting 'the raving hump about it'? I don't think so. All I was doing was having a bit of banter with RRB and then I get accused of being a moaning miserable toad.
Personally, I don't have an opinion one way or the other on the London Olympics. I shall watch bits of it, just like i am watching bits if the current one. And I'll enjoy it.
