Problem is it has allready cost them money so they aren't going to give in easy. Said he'd only charge me 29 for my next Re test though, shame iIwon't be going back.

i'd report them to VOSA, as the first test was obviously sub-standard, with any luck they'll get a visit from the ministry, and hauled over the coals...
i'd go out of my way to stich them up, the local paper might be interested, as they are always looking for storys about rogue traders.....
then find a sensible MOT station, and stick with them, there are a lot of absolute w**kers out there, most of them are just pimping for work...

sorry to hear about your failure. my disco failed its mot a few weeks back. it failed on the front brake discs were badly warped, hand brake needed adjusting , wheel bearings needed nipped up, 1 headlight out of alignment.
the discs were done not long ago by local garage as i did have the time when they needed doing. so they put another set on without complaining. i adjusted the handbrake and the headlight and stuck it back in for its retest. it passed thank god. the mot er came out to have a word with me. he said that the garage that did the discs has done something to nearside front wheel bearing and now it should fail but he wqould let it go as he knew i would do it asoon as i got home.......
so although the mot cost me 80 squids im just glad that the moter was a good bloke. he could of sent me packing and charged me another 40 squid :evil: :evil: the new system seems to be set up to favour the garages and not the customer

Had my TJ MOT'd couple of weeks ago...passed but I got a right bo**ocking about the amount of mud that fell off the underside during the test..... :roll: :lol: :twisted:
