MOT again..... CONTAINS RANTING

(1/5) > >>

MTyrrell:
Just got the 110 back from it's MOT. It failed again ](*,)  ](*,) . This time it failed on the swivels that were only an advisory when it failed on Tuesday, it's only done 1.2 miles between the first and second test :?. Also failed on a UJ that wasn't even picked up first time around.

Not happy at all, apparently it was a different tester. Talk about double standards.

Do i have to go back to the same test station for a retest or can i go else where?

When i asked him to quote me for the work that needed doing he said he doesn't know and wouldn't be able to even quote me till Tuesday or Wednesday.

Took it up to the garage a who i have always used, but doesn't do MOT's, to fix. Just dumped it on his yard and gave him the certificate and asked him to sort. Had enough now somebody else can sort it!

If anyone wants to see exactly what it failed on ill post the reg and fail certificate number on here and you can have a look on the VOSA  website, should be OK to do that?

And to top it all i ordered some part's for a heater and only one of the six items i ordered  has been sent out.

I'm going out in the garden to shout at something now..................

thought re test only chcked the items it failed on last time ?.
At least thats what mind did when i took it at easter time.

V8MoneyPit:
I think the new system (computerised) requires a full retest. However, the fact they found different things suggests that either the first tester wasn't being thorough enough, or the second one had had a bad morning!

If I see a flock of very frightened Sparrows hurtling by, I shall know why!

MTyrrell:
I thought that too, must be a new thing, like the No Free retest rule.

£39 a time three MOT's (that's if it passes third time) £117 in MOT fees. Just made me even more pee'd off now I've worked that out.

ian_s:
i'd demand the money back on the first test as it was obviously not up to standard.
