Had my hybrid tested a couple of weeks ago, the tester didn't switch on a single light, or the wipers, or the horn. In fact he didn't get in the vehicle other than when I drove him up the road to do the brake test. It passed but we had to pass alot of time talking Land Rover, with him going to find a recent mag that had a picture of my hybrid taken at the ALRC nationals before he could print off the computerised certificate.

The free retest is a victim of the new computer system.

They have to log the vehicle on and can't log off for the same 45 mins as for the first test. The place I use does free retests if within 24 hrs or if they do the work.

Many years ago I used a place that could be arse holes depending on who you got. Sometimes this same guy would test everything again on a retest and fail it on a different thing even though he did the first test.

I stopped using them in the end

My Disco is due on Tuesday, 10am.

I think I'll be going by the garage for a gallon of petrol before I turn up at the MOT station.  :wink:

My local garage is very good and still do retests for £20 :D  (the new computerised ones and my last car was a month between test and retest)

I'm assuming this is their standard rate, unless i'm getting a bulk discount since i seem give him around 4 MOT's and 2 or 3 retests per year
