JeepRikk:
Hi there, just signed up after seeing this message :)

I've already mailed my MP and got a basic responce that he will be taking it further and getting back to, I'll keep chasing and make sure he does.

NERC dosn't affect me that much being in Essex as almost everything drivable is a BOAT, BUT seeing where this is heading and also how it affects other disabled people in other area's I thought I'd at least see what my MP had to say.

I'll also email the DDA and see what they have to say for themselves...didn't even realise they existed.

If there's anything I can help with please let me know.

Has anybody looked at the DDA and possible infringment of rights under the european laws e.g european bill of human rights (correct me if thats wrong) :?:
May be a long shot but you never know

To my knowledge, not as yet, although you can bet folk have talked about doing it, until they find out the costs. If you wanna go to European Court you'll need about seven figures of backing which is why no one has done it yet (unless they're loaded, in which case they probably paid for NERC in the first place)

One arguement that has been put forward (if you want to buy into it) is that the right of transit in a vehicle is granted only by permission of law, and as such the permission can be withdrawn. The up shot would be that they would claim your human rights haven't been infringed. So, you can see what we're up against.

cheers
