K&N Filters

<< < (5/7) > >>

Paul:
I wasn't that close to it when using the air line.

What do you use to wash it Andy ?

Andy.:
Just some mild soapy water, found using an old tooth brush helps too

Last time I gave it a wash and blow dry, wife's job rubbing off on me

Paul:
I'll give it a go after I've been out playing tomorrow.

The wife could do with a new toothbrush.

Budgie:
I've had K&N's on most of my Landy's and I've always use the K&N filter cleaner & oil.

Tap the filter to get the large stuff out, then a light going over with something like a paint brush (anything heavier and you risk pushing dirt into the filter or damage to the filter wadding between the wire gauze - that's also why they say not to use an airline) then soak with the filter cleaner and leave for 5-10 mins.
Rinse under a strong flow of water from a tap (flow going from the inside of the filter to the outside) and leave to dry.
Once dry, spray a new coat of filter oil on it, clean off the excess and refit!

Easy ain't it!  :D

gords:
And how often/when do they recommend you do that?
