Thinking of putting one in my Discovery - where do you get them? Are they generally available from car spares shops, Halfords, etc? Mail order?

not widely available very much doubt that Halfords would do them - you will probably have to go to a LR spares specialist like paddocks, DLS, scorpion etc....  i think there about £50 !!

Aha! Just found them listed at Famous Four for £32 + VAT & Delivery.

I've just fitted one to my Disco 300dti. Cost me £32.41 inc vat with free delivery from Paddocks if you spend over £50 online.

Made a significant impact to the motor. That said my old filter was clogged with mud so anything would have been an improvement. It's now much smoother than ever before, more throttle response at low revs and i get an extra 4 mph up hill...wow !!
