So why did I buy a snorkel ?
Budgie:
I see what you mean.
I went for the Safari which does have drain holes below the intake and I've not noticed any water in the filter box after rain. Although I did read somewhere about one getting blocked with snow and stopping the engine so that's been noted and I'll remember to turn the intake round next time I'm driving in heavy snow!
gords:
How long does it take to fit a (Safari) snorkel? Assuming no major disasters of course
Also, does everything you need come in the kit? Or do you still need other stuff - like silicone sealant?
You can all probably guess what my air filter looks lilke at the moment
Paul:
You get eveything need to fit it.
There's a lot more to do when it's on a 300tdi
as you have to modify the air box and move
it away from the wing.
You will need some silicon.

gords:
Thanks Paul, I've seen that article :) Doesn't say how long it takes though :-k
Colin 009:
Hi Gords, shouldn't take more than a couple of hours.
The hardest part is cutting the first hole in the outer wing
