More than that for me! OK maybe I can be mature about driving but that's it for maturity - its just overrated and if you disagree I'll throw my toys at you

There's no substitute for experience, and as we're better at learning when we're younger, putting up the age isn't going to change much.
If you look around there are plenty of bad drivers who are well over 18 (and they have probably had a licence for years).

Nothing has been said "within the industry" that I've seen. Beside I don't agree with it, it's going to take 4 years for some "young lads" the settle down and at least at 17 most kids live at home with parents at 18 lots are away from home at university which I don't see as a good thing.
I'd agree with a probationary period though, and statutory retesting.
