Fuel prices

£1.30 per litre here- costing me £100 week just to get to work!! I won't get rid of the 4x4 it'll just become a offroader/weekend/family/towing car. Been looking around at various diesel Corsas and stuff that get 75mpg+ on a run. Okay to get work in but not really family size/family safe.
I calculated that £5K spent on a 2005 model diesel bubble car will have paid for itself in 18months- that's how ridiculous the situation is! This is even assuming the price of diesel doesn't go up even more (which it will).
So no- don't sell- buy another car -VED Class B, insurance group 2, diesel runabout!

Never, and for now there is always Veg Oil

Been looking at that It's £1.17/l in the tesco near here diesel isn't much more, so it's not worth risking my injector pump.

Try local cash & carry they do 20Ltrs of KTC Veg oil for £17
and its in 20ltr barrels so easier to put in :D
redhand:
On the news today they're expecting Oil to reach $200 a barrel  that's $5 a gallon or $1.33 per ltr or in uk prices 67p per litre. and that's before the refinery has converted it to petrol/diesel and before Government slaps 85ppl tax on it. add delivery costs and the filling stations mark up and you're looking at £2.00 per litre.
It's getting so bad I had to tow a pikey to a garage today after he ran out of diesel. Now that's a serious state of affairs.

As for the Rangie, its my substitute for the pub etc so it will stay as long as I can afford it
