Truckers Fuel Protest

<< < (4/6) > >>

DiscoveRay:
Interesting you believe you live in a democracy Neil.

We are dictated to by corrupt, career politicians, all academics with no 'real world' experience (what we used to call 'educated idiots' in the Army).

Answer one question for me:

Do you honestly believe that the actions of this, or the previous government reflect the views and wishes of the British electorate?

Ray

P.S. I'm not in favour of the fuel protest either and as for the ballot box, what's the point, same sleaze and cronyism, just a different name. Military Coup?

They're not.......It's all a con-2nd largest global carbon contributor is deforestation(mainly rainforest) then burning felled timber to make land available for farm use.
Double whammy-fires create the carbon and there are no trees left to absorb it.

Largest global contributor is energy production-some of which is used to make windturbines which can never offset the carbon produced in construction/transportation etc.......

Throw in coal seams in China which are burning underground producing 000's tonnes of carbon per annum. The Chinese were celebrating putting one out recently which had been burning for 50 yrs, however, there are hundreds left to extinguish some of which have been burning for 2 centuries.
Etc,etc, etc.............. it goes on and on.I feel no guilt about my carbon footprint I suggest do your  research and have the weight lifted

If you came from, for example, Spain, you wouldn't even dare joke about it. I was only 7 years old when our last coup took place (the infamous 23-F), but I remember quite distinctly my father and grandfather going to the local police station to surrender all their weapons: no matter the outcome, they didn't want any kind of involvement on it. I also remember the fear in most people. Having just come out from a military dictatorship, no one wanted the possibility of going back to the same conditions.

I have no simpathy whatsoever for the current government, but at least it can be chosen. Having a government you don't like, and not being able to speak against it, well, let's say I would spend a lot of time running from the police.
