It's annoying they have a monopoly, because if they were forced to compete with somebody who did door-to-door deliveries as a properly run business, their customers would last 5 minutes.  I can't think of many services where customers have to put up with shoddy service with no choice whatsoever of taking their business elsewhere, apart from maybe NTL Broadband.

V8MoneyPit:
I have to say, we get a pretty good service at work. But then it is delivered to us while we are there. The guy we get mostly is friendly and very helpful.

The collections in the afternoon are bang on time everytime because they have to zap a barcode on the wall that logs the time. We are treated exactly as a post box would be. They cannot collect earlier than the specified time because it gets logged.

The post at home arrive sometime during the day, but it's always in the house, not hanging out the door, etc. No problem there either really.

Ultimately, it is down to the individual worker I guess.

Didn't agree with the strike action, but neither did our delivery postman.

Virgin Media nowdays mate. goto http://www.speedtest.net for an accurate speed test. I'm paying for 2MB's and will be upgrading to 20MB's soon, but I doubt I'll ever get what is advertised, unless something spectacular, that interests everybody but me happens throughout cardiff, at the same time

Mate just went to FiOS in Calgary, and because hes on a trial of the tech is actually getting 20MBit symetrical!

NTL are in a similar position. Yes theres Sky and BT but neither offer the same package and value all from one company with the ease that they do.

I'd love to ditch them but BT still havent shown up to install the line 6 months after the date!
