Got home today and found this:



The package had been thrown over/under the gate and landed not 2 foot from my door, the package was damaged from its being thrown (note fragile label) and thanks to this afternoons rain, was about 10 minutes of papier mache.

Inside was a rather rare book I ordered, thanks to the sellers quick thinking and wrapping it in a bag, it wasnt damaged past being a bit bent.

This isnt the first time with mail being treated like this and not just by this postie. We had a parcel flun the length of the garden on Monday, we've had mail stuck in the letterbox and rather than just taking it back out and putting it in again so it didnt jam, he hammered it into the box, shredding the mail and damaging the box. I've had more lost mail than I can count and I've had misdelivered mail almost continually (really 1A and 1 are different houses you moron!)

So they botch because they dont want to work contracted hours
They moan because they are being subjected to the same working conditions as the rest of the workforce.
They moan about pay levels when they are actually paid more than many skilled workers.
And they want more money.

And give service like this. Hell sack the lot of them and start over. Sure theres enough immigrants to deal with the employment vacancies

To be fair to my postmen They have allways been very good and helpfull re our business (they directed post before the official direct kicked in) and my home ones are fine.

That said I have live in rural areas where people are less anonymous and I think they have less staff turnover and less dross.

Edge:
The post around here is awful.... think the postman is setting himself up with my I.D., mail is always going missing..... They even have the cheek to set up a stand/table in the middle of town asking for peoples signatures in their support re. pay rise or something.
Theyre threatening strike action cos 12 colleagues got suspended (probably on full pay????) due to allegations of bullying.

Sack the lot and employ people who can do the job properly

All royal mail staff should be ashamed of the service they are providing.

I hate the way they chuck handfuls of red elastic bands all over the pavement.  Why should postmen be allowed to discard litter everywhere, when nobody else does?

the issue of posties was discussed recently when they had their strike... i can say that the feeling on here was not of sympathy!


when i first moved in this house we are at now (sept) post came in the morning (after 9 but before 10am)

but yesterday it turned up at 4

in a brand new jag s type!

i mean are you telling me the posties are hard done by!
