Thrasher:

As Bulli says :)
If you have to ask .... get a TDi

mines a 3.9 v8 and its doing about 19 to 20 mpg and towing a caravan its worse i wish i had bought a diesel so if you can shop around untill you find a good one well worth it.oh and dont forget with a diesel you have got the veg oil option as well.yes the speed and sound of the v8 is fantastic but when your down the local filling station every 300 or so miles banging in 80 plus quid that sound and power wears a little thin and i would imagine that the diesel is just as capable off road as the petrol and probably better if you want to go wading(thats pure speculation as i have never driven a diesel) hope you find what you are looking for bruv.

Mmmmmm......... I see what you mean now Bulli. Wish I hadn't worked mine out.
Round town on lpg just over 8 thats with my weighty lead boots. On a run steady, 20 ish. For petrol add 2-3 mpg. this is with the auto Disco in my avatar loadsa very none aerodynamic mods.
Whats worse I have just sold my tdi and bought a 200 series, 3 door, v8  why? Go start one up and it never fails to raise a :D .
I don't do a lot of miles weekly so not such an issue for me.
A friend of mine who has a v8 found the petrol bills a bit steep bought himself a diesel laguna for work travel etc as he works an hour away.

Funny you should say that. When we had our caravan we found that it didn't make that much difference maybe 1 mpg but nothing to write home about.
Now sold the van as missed sleeping under canvas.
Thrasher:
When I tow with the RR my MPG gets better ...
