D.I.Y Snorkel - I'm going for it! (any advice welcome!)

Pete:
Never trust plastic pipe where it can take a knock. It's just as easy to make a snorkle with steel tube, and it will last a hell of a lot longer than anything from B&Q and talke a knock better than event the expensive plastic ones.
Looks neater too, no lumps sticking out of the side of the wing to catch on trees or gate posts. Looks neater as well.
 Pete.

lee celtic:
Pete that is the same as mine but I left the steel pipe longer and just put a 90 degree bend on the end through the inner wing and onto the air box .
Ebay from the USA $4.95 +$4-95 shipping =£4-95 demon tweeks wanted £27  and it included stainless jubilee clips

then I sprayed it with two coats of spray putty and three of satin black it now matches the mushroom top.

I used a piece of black fuel pipe split with a sharp blade to trim the cutout in the wing looks neat :D

HIPPO:
Well done to all you b&q snorkel-ers, they all look pretty good.  Its great what you can achieve with a bit of research and patience.  However if anyone does cut their wing in the wrong place I have a n/s and an o/s front wing for a discovery 200 or 300 in good condition if any one would need them.  (They are grey in colour).

Thanks
Hippo
