A few years back we had a Spitfire and Hurricane 'dogfighting' about 100ft above the roof tops at our house. It was amazing to here the engines that close.

Just wish I had the camera, it was like a scene out of Battle of Britain!!

Last year there was a Spitfire & ME109 dog-fighting' at the airshow at Breighton.
Now that was scarily real
I'll have to check the dates for this year

Is it a real 109?...thought there was only a replica?

--- Quote from: "skip" ---WOW! you are lucky, I belive there are only two still flying. one here and one in canada.

I was in Canada and went to an airshow where they had several WW11 planes on show, was called dogs of war show or summat.
The Canadian Lanc did a few low level passes than landed and taxied to the show area.
I couldn't beleive it when they then invited all and sundry to climb the steps and actually go onboard. The queue was massive but they stayed on the ground until the queue had gone.
I had a natter to the groundcrew & pilots and they said there is a plan to get  both Lancs together in the UK for a show... not sure when though.
Theirs sounds totally different to ours .... apparently its due to the prop trim and lower revs they prefer to use.
The most amazing thing was they let the public climb all over it ...... A museum piece yet still available for everyone to investgate, not like the one we fly here.
Makes you wonder eh ?

Small world!  Not sure where junction 31 is, but we were coming through Howden when it was first spotted.  Got onto the M62 just in time to see it flying down the Ouse.

Junction 31 is the exit for Castleford/Wakefield, next-one west after 'Xscape' (32), FerryBridge (interchange with the A1, & the services) is 33.

We saw it at at some point between 14:30 - 14:45.
I don't know if he was following the M62, as it banked around to roughly follow the continuation towards the interchange with the m1
