Almost forgot!
(how could I??)

We were approaching jct 31 of the M62 this afternoon, when the noise of a piston engined aircraft made me look up (thankfully I had the window open)

It was only the Lancaster cruising overhead at about 2,000 foot!!


What a wonderful noise it made.
Sadly I couldn't pull over to watch it, but I lost sight of it after about 30 seconds.

I consider myself blessed for that

Yes indeide at the moment there are only two. Have seen the lancaster flying over the house by us the other weekend coming back for raf cosford airshow. think it is about the nicest sounding plane going.

I've been to East Kirkby & seen 'Just Jane' doing her taxi-runs. Now that's a beautiful sight & noise.
Plus..... I was lucky enough to be there when they had the 2-seater Spitfire 'fly-pasting'

Been around just jane last year and watch and felt her taxi run. Its has a very good museam as well. May just have to go back and see the tail up taxi run. Must say though when you read the web site for them it sounds like jane runs along the runway so i was a bit diaponted by the fact its only a very short stratch. Still a nice sight to see.
