Fitting of Bullbars banned in UK from 25th May 2007
beatmasterdave:
would anyone know what they class as an old vehicle? is there a specific date for that?
cheers all
datalas:
I am under the understanding that it's three days ago :D
However, this is putting into law an EU directive from October 2005, so I'd imagine it's not going to be any earlier than that..
lee celtic:
so that will be scaned pics of bull bars and winch bumpers taken from the glossys edited and added to old photos of your cars to prove you had them before the date  I love photo shop

Irrelevant as you won't be able to buy anything that's illigal ? ;)

Supposing some unscrupulous dealer tells you they are legal...then you got pulled and done for it...where do you stand?
If they are going to say what you can't fit to a vehicle it would be nice to have a definition of what it is that is illegal.
Does a rubber 'trim' panel (say for example one that resembles a rubber A bar) count? Or because it's sold as a trim panel and not an A bar does that make it legal?
G30RGE:
Well - after reading through lots of web pages it seems (as Datalas has already posted) the new law prevents anyone from 'Manufacturing. or 'selling' bars.
At the moment it seems not to prevent you from fitting them!
