How much damage can a horse do?

<< < (3/5) > >>

Range Rover Blues:

--- Quote from: "Manicminer" ---I was once told off by a horse rider for switching off my engine. I was told to pull over and leave the engine running so that the horse just takes it in it's stride and walks past. Starting the engine behind the horse after it's passed will spook it.
--- End quote ---

Depends how long you wait.  Shame she obvioulsy didn't know the advice ebing given to owners of cars isn't it

Maybe they should have to do some sort of CBt before being allowed to take a horse on a public road....

....oh, I said that already

My wife has a horse and it kinda made her smile when I read this to her.  That Chav deserves every bit of damage to his car and should be done for dangerous driving.  what if the horse wasn't being lead but had a small child on it's back.

There is a horse CBT that riders can take, but don't have to but given the vulnerablilty of being on a horse on the road most riders are very sensible, horses are after all not just valuable creatures but also a part of the family I found that out when I started dating my missus  .

Lord Shagg-Pyle:

--- Quote from: "dave_2A_2.25Turbo" ---Yep - no chance of suing the horse owner - many years ago my father found out that you couldn't do that when a cow came over the hedge and killed his Fiat
--- End quote ---

Not sure about that. There is an offence of allowing livestock to stray onto the highway. That covers such instances where the fence has not been maintained.
Most horse owners that I know, including my dear wife and daughter, pay a lot of money for public liability insurance. No, thats not right. Ipay a lot of money for their public liability insurance. :(
Re the Chav. Serves him right, the idiot.
Mind you, re horses. I don't trust anything that is bigger than me, has four legs, and a brain smaller than mine. That spells danger. Bloody things! Put them all in tins!  What good are they? All they do is eat and crap and cost a fortune! The horses, not my wife and daughter.
Why can't the females of my family choose something less pricey, like slugs or chinchillas?
Thats it, had enough! Hoss burgers anyone?
