FOREST WIRE KITS.... road legal?

ANOTHER FUNNY ONE.
IT ONLY TAKES 1 COPPER THAT DONT LIKE EM AND YOU WILL GET A TICKET, REGARDLESS OF MOT STANDARDS OR NOT.
IVE HAD A SCREEN THAT WAS CRACKED, IT WAS NOT AN MOT FAIL BUT THE OLD BILL PULLED ME AND GAVE ME A TICKET.
I EXPLAINED THE MOT MAN HAS SAID IT IS DEFINATELY NOT AN MOT FAIL, BUT THE OLD BILL JUST SAID ROAD TRAFFIC ACT BLA BLA I DONT LIKE IT TOUGH HERES A TICKET.
I THINK YOU WILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THESE CABLES.
PS. I DONT THINK YOU SHOULD HAVE THEM ON THE ROAD ANYWAY, THEY WOULD BE LIKE CHEESEWIRE TO A PEDESTRIAN, I KNOW GETTING HIT BY A 2 TON TRUCK IS GONNA HURT, AND BREAK THINGS BUT CHEESEWIRE IS I DIFFERENT MATTER!

I've seen this discussion before - the upshot, from what I remember, is that these limb-risers are only legal if they are factory fitted (this is how the Camel Trophy vehicles get away with it).

2 points to note:

First is that "road legal" includes green lanes. If you can't use them on green lanes what is the point?

More importnat is that we get enough bad press as it stands. All these would really achieve is to povide a very strong argument fo the anti's.

Just about to post the same :D. It is because there were fitted on the original Camel Trophy LRs at the factory. This makes them the only LRs that are legal for them to be fitted to.

some good points!

i'll be honest... i like them think they look pritty cool and do have some purpose (in a wooded area)

and i'll e honest about police... i live bang next door to a station so i know all in my area and dont really think that it would be a problem as most of them are quite think lol sad but true when it comes to vehicles.

but there is the threat to the general public... i hope to god i never ever hit anyone but should it happen i dont want to see them gettin chopped in half over my bonnet!

so im still undecided....
