Injector lifespan
Boomer:
I think the quoted life of 300Tdi injectors is 100,000 KMs, or about 62,000 miles.
In saying that my 300Tdi has just clicked over 200,000 miles on the original injectors, doesn't smoke, runs smoothly and still gives 32/33 mpg ! I have however replaced the glow plugs at about 120,000 mls.
Oil pressure is 50psi+ when cold and about 40psi at normal temp and speed (about 2000 rpm).
Hats off to good old british metal !!
mark.yellow.series.3:
largley depends on the quality of the fuel that has been used over the life of the injectors, the more moisture/ water in the fuel the quicker they will knackered. also how the car has been driven will affect there efficiency.
go to your nearest diesel service shop and get a price on having them reconned. if you can afford it, then get it done, it will only improve things. but bare in mind the state that your injectors are in, will be the same as the state your fuel infection pump will be in. I.E. knackered injectors will mean FI pump isnt far behind.
hobbit:
Just looking through the schedules,
24,000 (2 years) check/report
48,000 (4 years) check/report
72,000 (6 years) check/clean
96,000 (8 years) check/clean
all miles, no referal to any other operations on the injectors, I suppose if you have any probs you deal with it then
The actual report is for a defender, on the disco one it does not record when to check them at all, had to look twice to be sure I was looking at the right one :?
Also timing belt is 72,000 miles apart
Paul.K/LuckyTrucker:
Hi there, are you brave enough to let a cam belt go for 72,000 miles. I am not. I would be looking 60,000 for piece of mind. Next time the rev counter is getting near 4,000 rpm  when ovetaking or towing heavy going up hill then it is nice to know nothing is going to let go.

OK - now for a bit "off topic" (it's my topic anyway  ) - 4,000 rpm :-k - I'm not sure mine would get that far?!
So, what is the rev range/limit of a 300TDi?
