Injector lifespan
gords:
Just a general question really (re. 300 TDi) ... are the injectors a "service" item? i.e. should they be replaced at certain intervals?
I suppose the same question goes for the glow plugs!?
Paul.K/LuckyTrucker:
The easy answear is yes. Does it smoke, is fuel consumption poor is it short on power. If the answear is yes then the first thing to do is buy some injector cleaner, Wynns do a fine one about £8.00 and give that a go. If it is still poor after that then I would suggest a visit to a Diesel Specialist, you should find one in Yellow Pages and they can check it all. Oh! I forgot to mention is the air cleaner in good nick.
I think that is the route I would take. Best of luck.
MTyrrell:
I think they have a 10000 mile life span (TDi), someone may be able to confirm though.
I got a quote from a local specialist for a set of reconditioned injectors for my 200TDi, with the old ones on exchange for £200 for the full set.

10,000? Or did you mean 100,000?
