Manicminer:
All the reservoirs are full to the brim here.

Valleys full of water. Millions and millions of gallons.

Shame it's all for the benefit of Liverpool

suzota:
well if we set up desalination plants cant we keep the sea level down when the ice caps melt.

fram:
You'll still be able to wash your Landies, just have to take them to the jet wash instead of doing them at home. Jet washes are classed as commercial use. Also they drain the water back into the system whereas when you wash your car at home most of the time the water will just soak away into your garden.

Personally I think it's about time the government stepped in and told the water companies to get their act together and mend some of their leaking water mains. They seem to be making enough profit, so why aren't they doing the job that we pay our water rates for?

Reading that has changed my view a bit, I forgot about all their leaking pipes.  If they can allow millions of gallons to be lost then why should we look after the litres?  Maybe some sort of protest/boycott, hmmm...

Evilgoat:
Also add in that West End, Bitterne and Hedge End reservoirs were sold off to developers for housing, so thats three reservoirs that have been lost in the space of 5 miles.
