price of food at shows
bezzabsa:
same as when we go greenlaning.. chicken curry and bombay potatoes..hmmmmmmmmmm and freh bacon sandwiches for breakfast - nowt better ;)
mind you we usually go with a moaning git who takes 2 packs of crisps 1 can of pop and a pack of bon bons...then moans when we start cooking the curry :D:D
beast5680:
show caterers are a law unto themselves, at the SED show they charge £1 for everything on build up day then £3.50 a burger on show days
datalas:
to be fair to teh traders working food stands at shows is neither cheap nor particularly easy.
Trade pitches I believe are actually cheaper than some of the food stalls and food stalls generally speaking have higher running costs. Not to mention I would guess that you need some form of public liability to inflict your cooking on people.
Having said that, the prices at Gaydon were strange, there was the usual boiled burger slop van, which charged the usual partially inflated prices you'd expect, the "expensive" one was offering nothing but Organic bacon and sarnies etc, so, as usual this justifies three times the price tag :) However, they tried something new and good luck to them.
Now, if you ask me Hog Roasts are the way to go, I can make bacon butties at home :)
Manicminer:
All shows are the same and have been for years.
I always take a *full* lunchbox and a flask .... and an inverter... and a kettle ...and a microwave...
Baby_Rhino:
went to a heavy horse show today
cost to get in... free
cost for a pint of beer... £2
all the food looked pretty good and everything seemed reasonably priced and the stalls were constantly busy! thats the way to do it! :D
