You can't really do mpg calcs against a tank size as you probably neer drain the tank, do it click to click from a petrol station and you can then work it out from the metered fuel going in.

I've made a little excel spreadsheet to work it out for me.

in my 2.25 diesel s3 im getting low 20's in my 300 disco i was getting 28 in town and 35 on long runs. if hes getting 20 from a V8 range he either has a very light right foot or doesnt drive anywhere - best i ever got from my range was 12mpg round town and 18 on a run....strangely though my 1990 G plate V8 disco used to do 19 round town, and that was on carbs??

HI,
have you got any pictures of the Disco gearbox conversion as I am going to fit one in my 90.
Cheers.

Hi All.

I get a staedy 29-31mpg (combined driving) out of my 200 tdi defender. It's a '93 model year 90 soft top with a disco transfer box and 235/85/16 muds. My speedo is out because of this and I've measured mileage against my GPS.

From ten gallons of fuel I get 300 miles (ish). Mainly country roads and low speeds, but it doesn't change that greatly with road speed or conditions.

Maybe I drive slowly, but it pays doesn't it?

well it looks like my inj pump is up the swanny with this cold starting issue - just trtying to find a second hand one somewhere that I can get reconned as mine is still technically working for now.
