mpg
smo:
In my TD5 90 i average between 25 and 30 usually.
Last night i covered 215 miles at approx 60mph (altho there were local slower bits at both ends of journey and a few stops along the way) and managed to return 30.44MPG which isnt too bad :)

My 1986 3.5L V8 gets scary mpg on petrol - but when I run it on gas and multiply the mpg by the price of diesel over the price of gas then I get around 24. Only problem is that with an 80L tank which only takes around 65L I have to go to the petrol station 3 times a fortnight.
Forget the diesel - it sounds terrible and it does n't have the power. you know it makes sense.

I did check the MPG of my 90 when I first put the Discovery 200Tdi engine in, I kind of reckoned it was around 28MPG, but my speedo reads out quite a bit due to the 265/75 MT's fitted, I did change the speedo gear in the box from the original one fitted for the 205 tyres, but it still reads out, so if you are doing the usual fill to the brim, run around, fill up again, the figure isn't going to be that accurate.
At the end of the day, it does considerably more than the old 2.5 petrol did, so I'm happy with that...............Well apart from the potential £900 bill to get it through it's MOT!!

I have the straightforward Disco200tdi in 90 csw its on 235/85/16s
taken off the big centre box from exhaust, also back box and just use
small box at front, my driving routine is very stop start low millage, my calculations lead me to think im getting around 30ish + the motor is very responsive -but it is a rebuilt motor with just about new everything,
and set up very nicely by my local garage that did the conversion and
fabricating of turbo down pipe and exhaust, i rarely push it over 55mph
as i would need ear defenders if i did   very happy with it,
