just sold my disco x-fer box for £150! whoops.
He must be talking about main gearbox as transfer box exactly the same externally so wouldnt give more room for an exhaust.... hmmmm
Maybe I should just get some 35" inch tyres instead :-) Saying that, been there and done that with the disco (big tyres) and spent a year or so modifgying body work etc to get everything to fit - not sure I fancy that on the 90..I just spent half the day today modding the exhaust as it caughton the back tyre. Can see that the tyres catch on the arches on extreme articulation too, not sure what to do about that for now though.

well i've been getting a fairly constant 26mpg from mine, but then i have got a light right foot :wink:

didnt av a middle seat wuddnt like 2 ever sit there, yes its a disco gearbox ...yes a shortstick it pushes the engine 2 were a 300sits. i origionaly had a parker conversion kit on but it was crap....it chocked the engine 2 death now fine and did the sums agen it works out at 27.6mpg steady 60 on long runs wiv 205's on........darnt do it with the grizzlys lol.....tiz a 60l tank by the way isnt it :shock: if not den back to the sums. but to fit it i made 2 new engine mounts and for the gearstick.....a angle grinder soon sorted that out......wak a bit of chequre plate on top and jobs a gud en. also comes in handy if i come across a gud 300 but think i stick 2 d gud old smokey 200tdi

you gain 5 inches more away from the bulkhead against the turbo...im onabout just fit a disco 200tdi in2 ur defender....i previously had a 200tdi defender engine fitted but it was crap compared 2 my friends 200tdi disco powerd 90 so i changed over alot of a differnece but i felt i cud get more out of mine compared 2 my friend with the parker . so i did a bit of modding and it payed off alot more responsive and no more black sut around no 4 exhaust manifold from where it was gettin chocked....just the outlet 4 the turbo is a ******* pain in d arse
