Tinkling chain-type noise ?

I have a 'tinkling' sound as well from under the vehicle. I suspected UJ's but as it was only about 10k miles since I did them I was not too sure.
Had the vehicle on ramps the other week and gave everything a good shake and tug while I was underneath but nothing was obviously causing the sound.
The noise is only really noticable when over rough roads or driving bumpy tracks. At normal road speed on well made roads it doesn't appear. Just covered 450 miles at the weekend and the only time it was heard was when I pulled off-road onto the tracks.
Looks like further investigations are in order.

Did the joint just let go, or was there some sort of warning (any strange noise perhaps, something like a metallic/chain/tinkling sound ? 8-[

Just a thought - it only happens when you pull off-road - not the Traction Control is it? If it only triggers occasionally, it could be - it's bloody noisy on a D2. When I first had mine I thought something was wrong with it, but they're all like that.
If you are thinking "don't be stupid, I know what the damned ABS modulator sounds like" then apologies...
