Tinkling chain-type noise ?

--- Quote from: "thermidorthelobster" ---Just a thought - it only happens when you pull off-road - not the Traction Control is it?  If it only triggers occasionally, it could be - it's bloody noisy on a D2.  When I first had mine I thought something was wrong with it, but they're all like that.

If you are thinking "don't be stupid, I know what the damned ABS modulator sounds like" then apologies...

My noise is definitely not TC or ACE - it's much more subtle !!!!!

Got some spare time today, so am off to crawl under and a have a good look - having chocked the wheels first

Xtremeteam:
it might b the centre heat shield on the td5's above the centre box

Jimbo:
Cheers Mikee,

I took my mate out this morning (went to pick up the 'new' roof for the 110 - wish I had the camera, was quite a sight, a Disco with a 110 roof on top !!!) - and he reckons the noise might be something rattling on the exhuast, or against a chassis leg.........hopefully dirt cheap (or free !) to fix

Range Rover Blues:
TBH the components in the transmission are a bit too heavy to tinkle, they would probably clunk.  I think youre mate is right, more likely to be the exhaust jusy starting to blow or a baffle inside coming loose with corrosion, more gas is flowing when you hit the loud pedal you see.

:(biglaugh):  Loud pedal & Td5 auto don't really go hand in hand !!!!
