Remote keyfob
Niel:
--- Quote from: "daveh" ---Yep, Bog Standard single button fob. I know cos I had to call out the man in a van when the damn battery went flat in the fob. Could unlock with the key, disconnect the alarm with a screwdriver but then found that the starter would not turn the engine over. This also meant of course that everything was out of kilter and he did things with batt connections and ignition key and hey presto I was on my way home.

Lucky, sometimes near some mil. bases, nothing will work, all down to the frequency 433.920Mhz, being in their band, and its activily jammed to prevent remote bombing.....
Niel.
Wanderer:
The single button fobs are on a different frequency. 418 Mhz.
So not as much a problem as the later remotes. The Japanese imports are 315Mhz so again not as much a problem as the later two button remotes.
It was a bit crazy sticking the remotes on a frequency used by radio amateurs and the military.
I don't know if Mould is still running but you'd have fun getting into your vehicle near any of their sites.

Mine (1994/M) is on 433MHz.
I've got a fob but failed, so far, to get it to synch - the timings for what you need to do seem extremely tight!?
Wanderer:
Whoops...
Mine is a 93 and it's 418Mhz.
Some naughty radio amateurs jam your key fobs. can't do it to me and they've tried nah nah nah nah nah................
You can do it from the control box. The guy at remote key has a box he sends out that allows it to be done even when the tried and tested method won't work. It can be a faulty switch on the car causing it to fail. Usually the bonnet switch if it's been full of mud or water.
