snorkel - Airbox

Jake:
A Viper induction kit looks like this

Basiclly, its a performance filter in a housing which is great for putting in the snorkel intake line.
A through cab snorkel is basiclly a normal raised air intake but instead of going up the A piller, it passes through the cab and then up the rear of a truck cab vehicle like this

This the best solution on challenge trucks as it puts the snorkel / filter around the back out of harms way.
You can just simply fit a filter on the top of your snorkel, just be careful in trees

I hope this had made it more clear for you and maybe given you some ideas

Hi jake that Filter in the last pic looks like one you can get from any motor factor place, is it ok to be used outside of the car I mean , waterproof and say weather proof
because if so I could connect the snorkel end that fit through the wing to the turbo/engine air intake and the top of the snorkel fit one of those filters couldn't I ??

thanks

Paul

Pablo011:
And if it can be used on the outside as per the pic then that would be great and an easy way to fit my snorkel thingy

Paul

Jake:
If you've got a good quality filter like a Greens or K&N then its OK you just need to clean it regularly.
To assist in the protection of mine, i fitted a Outerwears micro cotton pre-filter which catches a lot of the junk and allows for decent airflow into the filter. (you can can see the green cover on my filter)
They're not expensive, about £12 each.

Pablo011:
So a K & N filter like in the pic would be ok on top of my Safari snorkel then, and I would't lose any engine performance would I ????

thanks

Paul
