1972 classic v8,lpg or 200tdi conversion?how economical?

Hello MC'ers,

My 200 tdi when it was new got 29.9 towing my 5 berth caravan all the way to the South of France.
the 200 tdi is the most economical of the later engines by far, did not do an exact log as I did on the Freench trip but I rekon I was getting around 33mpg around town (solo) and over 35 mpg on a run (under 65mph)

If you dont need to get a LR engine, e.g. for LR club scruitinised events etc. then I'd suggest you get a Isuzu turbo 2.8.
Far superior to anything of that age from Solihull and matches the RRC perfectly.
