Would imagine a tin of Carb/Throttle Body cleaner from Halfords would work well. Its designed to dissolve just that sort of gunk and is combustable to boot

Hi Andy,

I was advised to use rs components Zero-Tri solvent degreaser, it evaporates off rapidly so no nasties to total your motor

http://www.rswww.com/cgi-bin/bv/browse/Module.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1613212793.1073495715@@@@&BV_EngineID=cccgadckgedkmdhcfngcfkmdgkldfhm.0&cacheID=ukie&3250948529=3250948529&stockNo=3159571
