Range Rover Blues:
The pump is in the nose of the gearbox, I'm told you can strip the bellhousing to get at the pump but I've never tried it.

extreme90:
pump is easily done but you need to be very clean in your work on autobox's

ive rebuilt a few now.
oil pumps are very expensive, but ive got a couple nocking around if your stuck  ;)

--- Quote from: vougese39 on May 25, 2010, 22:10:23 ---the zf box if it is from a disco2 or p38a is not compatable with the earlier cars as it has a electronic control. also the box will be valved for the v8 not a diesel so it will be valved wrong i would have stuck with a manual.
possible fault with box is the torque convertor not installed properly and you have crushed the oil pump box fubar

thats assuming the box wasnt from a diesel, also EH box's can soon be made to work the old fashioned way  ;)

Tell us how mate, I've toyed with fitting a later box, from a 4.6.  Can you use the electric shift?

extreme90:
why do you want to fit that later box pal ?
if your going to upgrade, go to the 24 version but put it on manual valve block
im running compushift on my EH box in the comp truck and its amazing. i can control the what the gearbox does at the push of a button
