As I said above, your missing the point ;)

Stopping is a killer. Going from 100 - 0 in 0.00000000000005th of a second might cause a few problems with regards to where your face used to be and where it is now.

Seems I was correct, Ive no wish to proceed and I fear this has veered off topic enough.

And i got a fine, posted out to me; 36 in a 30.

Then was given option pay £60 fine or £70 for "speed awareness" course, with no points on licence ;).

I think you would have heard by now if they was going to send you a fine, i believe they let you know in 2 weeks.

Must admit, thought easy way out of points on licence, but it is very informative and i have been very aware of my speed ever since course; everyone should take this course.

I was stopped for doing 42  in a 30 through a local village a couple of years ago. I claimed I was distracted by the vintage Rolls Royce I was following which made the bobby laugh (he stopped the Rolls as well). We were both given a choice of a fine and points or an "on the spot" speed awareness  presentation. I considered this for a nanosecond before opting for the presentation which included a braking reaction time test given in a tent at the side of the road.
