And it's their abrupt halt which causes the problems.  Speed has never killed anyone (I'm sure that there's probably some really obscure cases where it has).


Stopping is the killer.

I dont think you understand when a pedestrian runs out they are going one direction a vehicle hitting them changes that direction(being pedantic you may claim they instantaneously stop for a micro second before changing direction, but thats splitting hairs and is subject to variables) , an inquest is an eye opener ;)
