You dont need an engineers report to have a modified vehicle with NFU.
Mine is modified and i have no worries with my local NFU branch, they didnt even ask what some of the mods were for, it even reduced my premium as they assumed i would be in fields most of the time

I think they have just changed this, as if you fit the mods yourself they ask for an engineers report now.  This was what happened when i got the discovery insured with them, but because i didnt fit the mods and it had an mot on it then they let it go.

Mine was renewed just recently with new mods to it and it was never mentioned  :?
Oh well, we shall see in a years time i suppose, not a problem for me to get an engineers report

I think http://www.santapodinsurance.com/ might cover off road use and modified vehicles.

What is an 'engineers report' ? and who is 'qualified' to issue them?

I had this problem a few years ago with modified cars (performance not cheesy bodykits) but just ignored it and it went away.
