Well that was a bit premature.

After replacing the filter it did run great for about 2 weeks and then went back to coughing and farting.
I blew the fuel lines out and it ran fine again for a few weeks. Now its only running on one bank of cylinders.
The drivers side 4 cylinders all have a good spark but the rough running remains if i pull off a spark plug lead on any cylinder on this bank, so i am assuming that there is a fuel problem on this bank.
Is there a common rail fuel supply to the injectors (I assume it has injectors) and can i buy a replacement "bit"

She runs great on gas, and was running fine this morning on petrol, so the problem is intermittant.
I have just replaced the dizzy cap, but couldnt get the rotor arm off and gave up because its blowing a gale.

Any adive greatly acepted.

What are you talking about !!!!

I am a diesel monkey and know less than nothing about v8's all i know is its a 3.5 1989 4 door rangie.

I was discussing this problem with mrs wizard last night (as you do) and she said that when its on gas it is fine, if you switch over to petrol it will run rough most of the time, but if its on petrol and running fine it will always run fine so it seems to be a problem when switching over from gas to petrol.

It is ok at the moment(on petrol) I will leave it on petrol and see how long it take before it starts to cough and fart again.

I think i will invest in a Hayne's manual as well.
Regards
wizard
