Coughing and farting !!!

Mrs wizards 1989 Rangie runs fine on gas, but occasionally coughs and farts when on petrol. When its in coughing and farting mode it wont rev over 2k and top speed is about 40mph. Switch it back to gas and its fine.

I think its either a blocked filter, dodgy fuel pump or crappy fuel.

My question is........

Where is the fuel filter hidden. I cant find it.

I assume the fuel pump is in the fuel tank.

Hiya,
Ive a 97 V8 Disco, the fuel filter is in the O/S rear wheel arch and the pump is in the tank. mine coughed and spluttered on petrol for a while. turns out the fuel pump was on its way out.
