Coughing and farting !!!
trecfive:
Sometimes when running on gas for a long period(start on petrol then switch to gas) the dry gas dries out the internals, and you have to run on petrol to lubricate ,hence the farting and coughing. When things moisten up it will run OK on both.If only going a short distance keep it on petrol.Try changing back to petrol before ending your journey and switching off.

i had this same problem with 3.5 diso the above cured it.. mine just need the petrol to lube it up. so not just befor turning her of i make sure she has run on petrol for 5mins first :)

The fact that you said one bank of cylinders was not working I guessed the emulator. This is a device to stop the petrol injectors injecting petrol while running on gas. If one wasn't working or intermittant, only one bank of cylinders would be affected. Check the connectors to the petrol injectors (the emulators plug in between them) you will have 2 emulators, 1 for each bank, so controling 4 cylinders each.
Hope this spreads a bit of light. :?
