Replacing my wheels

<< < (2/3) > >>

Gordo:
Just remember to declare the change of wheels to your insurer.

When I bought a set of 15" steel wheels for a set of General AT²s I mentioned it to the ins. co. and they classed it as a modification and put a 25% loading on the premium! :pale:

I did point out that they're heavier, cheaper, stronger and less desireable than the standard alloys, but to no avail. Back to alloys it is!

I'll be changing insurer next time  :?

Just got rid of my 17's and fitted 215/70x16 General AT2 and it's a big improvement.

carbore:
And a different diameter affects your spedeo reading (and I dont want any smart remarks about swimming trunks!)

Rockin Robin:
Yes, interestingly ... with 29" diameter tyres fitted, according to my satnav, my speedo is now reading accurately!  ..................  (officer  ;) )
