Which budget winch

stuntman:
Get a secondhand one mate, I bought a 12000lb britpart item, and to be honest for what it cost it drags my 110 out of the claggy quite well.

william127:
i got the one on my range rover for free, off my defender :D just cost me £25 for grinding discs and drill bits to cut the bumper off and drill new holes in the mounts.
had i not had this bit of good luck i was looking at a superwinch lp8500/bumper combo from first four for £500  :-k  hav you got a suitable bumper as they are quite expesive for rangies and not that common s/hand?  if not have a look at a defender one and go over it and your chassis with a tape measure, it may suprise you what you can do with a grinder and some decent drill bits.

Mark_Solesbury:
Ive got this one on my 90

Ive used it 5 or 6 times on Sunday recovering stuck 4x4's and it was faultless.

I appreciate that as it was a little cheap, it will one day break. I think as long as you are prepared for it to die, probably when you least need it, they are good value for money.

I never go out on my own, and there are always others around to help. If you do venture out on your own, id spend the money and get a warn.
