Roads and the state of them

<< < (3/3)

bilge rat:
bad here too. great aint it . we are screwed for council tax , car tax, fuell tax . we have a week of bad weather . no grit to treat the roads . no bins emptied 2 weeks i think here ,then the roads fall apart .  rant over ..alan

muppetlab:
Yep the state of the roads is rubbish. I once hit a pithole so deep it buckled the alloy wheel and damaged the wheel bearing. Put a claim in against the council and they paid out so fair dues. However i am sure it would be cheaper to repair the roads properly than pay out the claims they must get.
Also is it just me or are the people who lay tarmac and repair the roads actually to blame. The reason i say that is i have seen several stretches or brand new resurfaced road and you would think you were on a roller coaster they were that uneven. Once again People unable to do a simple job properly. The local road to us was resurfaced so badly they came back the next week and ripped it up and did it again. Story of this country i am afraid. About time people started to take some pride in their work no matter what they do.

gnasha:
roads are just as bad round here but see a good one on the news showing the council out filling in the pot holes putting the filling straight in to a hole full of water so the next night probly froze and pop straight out

trustyrusty:
went up to rotherham to pick a bike up the other day and the roads around there are the worst i've been on for ages .i've been on smoother green lanes!

kizz81:
