--- Quote ---Thx for the reply wizard, did you find that when cornering on the road it helped also how was the response off road?

Cornering has always been fairly good, I did notice a difference once i removed the roofrack and spare wheel that was up there though. Since i put on the 2 inch body lift it has made it roll slightly more though.
Compared to my brothers Disco on standard springs mine is rock solid.

Off road it has been great, i kept snapping the front anti roll bar mountings every so often, mainly because they were limiting the axle articulation, so that ended up in the bin.

what relevance does this have to the blokes question? was the mk 1 escort an offroader? NO!!

Simply that engineers have been trying for 4 decades to get shocks to do the job of an anti roll bar, and failing dismaly.

But hell, what do I know, I've only got a degree in it after all.  Just forget I said anything.

Now, now children play nice as this is supposed to be a friendly forum, all i done was ask a simple question and all i wanted was a simple answer, i have now got a couple of answers from different people and i'm happy with the choice i am going to make so thx to all that have given me there opinion on twin shocks, as for the answer i got about roll bars, well that has no relevance to my question as i don't have them on my truck and to be honest never will as they are just something else that i'd bend and break

in answer to the question yes i have done the twin shock thing with pro comps on my last disco and loved it, handles better on road and you can be more "enthusiatic" driving offroad without so many harsh bottom outs

the twin shock mounts i fitted were paddocks and were not a straight forward fit as i had to cut the front inners to clear them and also lift the header tank a little, you will only need very minor trimming if you havea body lift though

But........i have actually changed back to single 11" ome shocks with gwynn lewis extended turrets

what you doing with the twin shock mounts or have you found a home for them?
