Twin shocks

Mud-muncher1:
As stated i'm looking to use twin shocks on my disco and was wondering what the benefits are from having them, also with using them can you get away with using a softer spring?

Range Rover Blues:
Starting with the obvious, springs and shocks do differnt things.  I've always been facinated by people who say that fitting twin shocks means you don't need anti roll bars.  Ford tried it in 1967 with the MkI Escort.  In 1968 it was launched with the Capri front axle, including a nice htick anti roll bar

Mud-muncher1:
The only reason i would like to know it that my truck has a very hard life on the front axle and wanted to know if there was any benefits to having twin shocks, as for anti roll bars i don't have them on anyway and don't have any problems without them.

knowing your truck twin shockers will help you - dont expect any lifts as a result but expect more effecient damping, less axle bouncing around over the bumps and a slighty stiffer ride.

Mud-muncher1:
Thx Dave, at least someone can give me a straight answer :)
