ABS help please

jkseries:
Hi,

I've been lurking for a while and I've always managed to find the information that I need but this time I'm stumped.

The ABS light is on in my 95 ES.  I've checked to info in the sticky at the top of the page but my fault code was not listed so after a google I found the complete list of codes.

The light is flashing out a code of 2-3 which is:

Recirculation pump does not operate (pump does not switch on).

I've bridged across the pump relay and the pump spins. (I presume the recirculation pump is the one on the back of the modulator assembly.)

I suppose my questions are:

1. Could the pump relay be at fault? Surely the relay is only used when the ABS needs to kick in.
2. Could the relay that I've been removing to access the codes be at fault?

I've also found conflicting reports about the test sequence. remove relay - ignition on - bridge pins - clear faults - remove jumper - ignition off - replace relay.
or remove relay - ignition on - bridge pins - clear faults - remove jumper - replace relay - ignition off.

I've tried both and I'm still getting the same fault code.

Please help

Range Rover Blues:
I alwasy try clrearing the code and see if it goes away.  Sorry if this isn't the answer you were looking ofr but it's worked for me in the past.

I've tried reading and clearing the codes so I just get the 1-1 start code.  Take it for a short drive above 10mph. The light doesn't go off.  Recheck the codes and the 2-3 is back.

I suppose it'll have to go off to the dealer....

now if yours is the  type  with the warning light in the top of the rev counter like mine that light is also for the airbag  system  wich could be needing reseting

My SRS light is also on but I'm going to sort that out the usual way

The code that I'm getting seem to tie up with the ABS and I can clear the codes back to nothing.

I can't see how it could be linked to the airbag but thanks for the advice.
