ben_haynes:
i have had the Brake light switch faulty causing a simillar fault, cant remember what the code was, and it is a common failure on most ABS systems

as for what lurch_917 said, i have never heard or come across this link between ABS and the Airbag system, maybe if they use the same fuse (very unlikely) it could be the fuse blown not allowing the relay to click in

I don't no if this was linked but i had my abs and air bag light came on at the same time. didn't do anything about it just sold it through e bay to germany.

Thanks for the replies.

From what I can tell the brake light switch failure shows as a 2-6 code.  The brake lights seem to becoming on fine but I'll check it out anyway.

Grasping at straws a bit now.

My ABS light is on again, and i can can guarantee its the brake lite failure when i do the test.

You may have a number off the same error logged (i think you can have the same error more than once) and so when you are clearing the error, it hasn't cleared them all, and thats why the light may be still on (if that makes sense).

Hope this helps

Andy

jkseries:
Thanks Andy. I 'thought' I'd cleared all the codes but I guess I might not have.  It's the only code that seems to be there at the moment.

I'm very tempted just to get new relays and be done with it.

I'm still grasping at straws.
